Curator at MAMbo - Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna, Bologna (Italy)
After working as Assistant Curator at the Castello di Rivoli from 2002 to 2005, in 2005 Andrea Viliani (b. Casale Monferrato, 1973 – Italy) curated at GAMEC, Bergamo, the group show No Manifesto. The same year he has been appointed Curator at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna di Bologna (to become in 2007 Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna). For the series + Museum – Shows he curated the first solo show in an Italian museum of the Belgian collective Building Transmissions, Ryan Gander, Jay Chung & Q Takeki Maeda and Markus Schinwald. In the context of the same program he’s preparing solo shows at MAMbo of – among the upcoming ones - Adam Chodzko, Bojan Sarcevic, Wade Guyton & Kelley Walker, Seth Price, Natascha Sadr-Haghighian. In 2006 he curated at GAM the retrospective of the Arte Povera artist Giovanni Anselmo and in 2007 the solo show of the American artist Christopher Williams (both with Gianfranco Maraniello).
